FORT MEADE - Mrs. Effie Mae Goodridge, 73, passed away Wed., July 11, 2012 in Lakeland of heart failure. Mrs. Goodridge was born on Jan. 18, 1939 in Fort Meade, FL where she was a life long resident. She was a retired Fort Meade High School teacher, a member of the First Church of God, Fort Meade where she served as a longtime youth leader. Mrs. Goodridge loved to travel, and she led many educational tours with various school students overseas. She was a graduate of Fort Meade High School, Class of 1957. Mrs. Goodridge was preceded in death by her father, Richard Graves, and sister, Betty Keller. She is survived by her husband, Marlen D. Goodridge, Fort Meade, FL; son, Richard Goodridge, Henegar, AL; daughters, Renee Dart, Winter Haven, FL and Teresa Carroll and husband Bruce, Fort Meade, FL; mother, Mrs. Sarah Graves, Lakeland, FL; sisters, Mattie Smith and Marie Anderson, both of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Jeffrey Dart, Joshua Dart, Aaron Carroll, Billy Carroll, and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 6:00pm - 8:00pm, Sat., July 14, 2012 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral Services will be held 3:00pm, Sun., July 15, 2012 at the First Church of God, 215 S. Perry Ave., Fort Meade with Rev. Travis Risner officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
