FORT MEADE - Mr. Irrie T. Smith, 86, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 in Sebring, FL. Mr. Smith was born on December 9, 1926, and was a native and life long resident of Fort Meade. He retired from Estech Chemical Co. as an electrician after 43 years of service. Mr. Smith was a WW II, U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of the Fort Meade American Legion, Post 23 Fort Meade, and a member of the First Church of God, Fort Meade. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Aldwilda Smith, three brothers and a sister. He is survived by sons, Joe A. Smith, Fort Myers, FL, Bill S. Smith, Tampa, FL, Tim H. Smith, Ft. Myers, FL, Randall Smith, Wauchula, FL; daughter, Dawn Stark, Wauchula, FL; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, Monday, March 4, 2013 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 East Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Travis Risner officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with military honors.
