Allene Forsythe Morgan

PLANT CITY - Mrs. Allene Forsythe Morgan, 82, passed away Sat., March 9, 2013 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, FL after complications from a stroke. Mrs. Morgan was born on June 24, 1930 in Plant City, FL, and after living in Fort Meade for many years she returned to Plant City in 1985. She retired after 20 years from CF Industries as a traffic supervisor. Mrs. Morgan was proud that she was the first female traffic supervisor in the entire State of Florida. She was a member of Plant City First Baptist Church, and a graduate of Plant City High School, Class of 1948. Mrs. Morgan loved to give of herself and helping others. In 2001, after 9-11, she traveled to New York to volunteer at Ground Zero with The Salvation Army and First Baptist Church of Plant City. Mrs. Morgan also spent many summers working in Jackson Hole, Wyoming at the Lake Jackson Lodge. Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, Vivian B. Morgan; sisters, Willie Mae Townsend, Evelyn Hancock, Annie Lee Cone and Rubye Fair. She is survived by her son, Greg Morgan, Plant City, FL; daughter, Peggy Parke and husband Bobby, Dover, FL; grandchildren, Ken Morgan of Cocoa Beach, FL who she raised for many years, Erin McQuaig, Wahiawa, HI, Kristen Hitchcock, Plant City, FL, Kevin Morgan, Valrico, FL, Matt Parke, Dover, FL, and Carla Daughtry, Mulberry, FL; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 10:00am - 11:00am, Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Springhead Baptist Church, Plant City, FL. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the church with Dr. Ron Churchill officiating. Interment will follow in Springhead Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hancockfh.com .
