FROSTPROOF - Mr. James Erwin Hancock, 77, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 in Sebring, FL. Mr. Hancock was born February 6, 1939 in Fort Meade, FL, and moved to Frostproof ten years ago after living many years in West Palm Beach. He was a member of the Sun Ray United Methodist Church; a U.S. Air Force Vietnam War Veteran; member of the American Legion Post #69 of Avon Park, FL; Director Emeritus of the South Florida Fair and Exposition; Director Emeritus of the Palm Beach Zoo; a member of the Florida Cattleman's Assoc.; and a 1957 graduate of Lake Worth High School.

Mr. Hancock was preceded in death by his parents, Durham Augustus Hancock and Inez Williams Hancock; daughter, Bridgette Hancock; brothers, Ronald Hancock and Dennis Hancock.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ladona K. Hancock, Frostproof, FL; sons, Tad Hancock and wife Pam, Auburntown, TN, and Cheynne Hancock and wife Sharyn, Clarksville, TN; brother, Merlyn Hancock and wife Joan, Tryon, GA; step-grandchildren, Adam Wolf and Andrew Wolf; aunts, Viola Higginbotham, Jacksonville, FL and Clarice Tyson and husband John, Orlando, FL; twelve nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June, 25, 2016 at the Sun Ray Methodist Church, 316 Raymond Ave., Frostproof, FL. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Hancock Cemetery, Fort Meade.
