Mr. Ronnie Lee Childress

FORT MEADE - Mr. Ronnie Lee Childress, 70, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 in Ocala, FL. Ronnie was born February 10, 1946 in Fort Meade, FL and had recently moved to Ocala. He was a member of the First Church of God in Fort Meade, attended Fort Meade schools in his early years and became a well established heavy equipment mechanic.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Flossie Childress, and sister, Judy Childress.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lena Childress, Ocala, FL; sons, Charlie Cooley, Iowa City, Iowa, and Jake Childress, Ocala, FL; daughters, Misty Kilgore, Shepherdsville, VA, Angie Childress, Manchester, TN, Kim Howze, Sebring, FL, Clea Lastinger, Ocala, FL; brothers, Harold Childress, Texas, Paul Childress, North Carolina, Donnie Childress, Fort Meade, FL, and Gary Childress, Herington, KS; sisters, Margaret Grandmont, Fort Meade, FL, Virginia Childress-Williams, Alturas, FL, and Shirley Gobble, Fort Meade, FL; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016 in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Fort Meade, FL. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to the American Cancer Society, 1920 South Florida Ave., Lakeland, FL 33803.
