LAKELAND – Mr. Tony Gilbert, 60, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Lakeland, FL. Tony was born August 13, 1954 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, and was a longtime resident of Lakeland. He was mine supervisor for the Four Corners Mosaic phosphate mine, and a protestant.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Gilbert; brother, James Gilbert; and sister, Sharon Diane Gilbert.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Gilbert, Lakeland, FL; daughters, Shona Gilbert Wilkin and husband Michael, Winter Haven, FL, and Lara Church and husband Edward, Jacksonville, FL; sons, Russell Brown and wife Tabatha, Lake Wales, FL, and Chris Brown, Lakeland, FL; mother, Roetta Gilbert, Trenton, GA; brother, Terry Gilbert, Rising Fawn, GA; sisters, Michelle Rice, Trenton, GA and Annette Wright, Valley Head, AL; grandchildren, Amanda Wilkin, Sammy Wilkin, Caiden Church, Caleb Church, Kristin Brown, Olivia Brown, Russell Brown, Jr., Preston Brown, Zoey Brown, Parker Brown, Haley Brown, Bailey Brown, and Jackson Brown; great-grandchildren, Taylee Brown and Gracie Brown.
Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 East Broadway, Fort Meade, FL. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.
