Barbara Jean Westbrook Lucky

FORT MEADE - Barbara Jean Westbrook Lucky, 77, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 in Bartow, FL. Barbara Jean was born May 19, 1939 in Eagle Lake, FL, and was a life long resident of Fort Meade. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, not only to her blood relatives, but also to countless children in Fort Meade who she helped raise and become a very important part of each of their lives. Barbara Jean was of the protestant faith, attended Fort Meade schools at an early age, and later in life working to raise her own family and extended family, she worked at OrangeCo in Bartow as a fruit sectionizer and also a cook and waitress in several local area restaurants.

Barbara Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Wanda Vaughn Westbrook; daughter, Tammy Bell; brother, Jerry Westbrook; and sister, Faye Fleury.

She is survived by her son, John Wiggins, Bartow, FL; daughters, Barbara Ann Dempsey, Fort Meade, FL; Judy Bobbitt and Jenny Lynn Lucky, both of Bartow, FL; son-in-law, Ronnie Bell, Fort Meade, FL; sister, Charlotte Black Rabadan, Fort Meade, FL; sister-in-law, Shirley Westbrook, Fort Meade, FL; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; eleven nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members.

Services for Barbara Jean will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 East Broadway, Fort Meade.
