FORT MEADE - Mrs. Brenda J. Kilpatrick, 72, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 in Bartow, FL of heart failure. Mrs. Kilpatrick was born Feb. 15, 1941 in Knoxville, TN and moved to Fort Meade from Wauchula, FL in 1960 soon after she married. She was a 1958 graduate of Hardee High School and went on to attend USF in Tampa. Mrs. Kilpatrick worked for the Florida Dept. of Transportation in Bartow for 33 years, retiring as the Assistant Manager for the Human Resources Dept. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, Fort Meade where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Adult Choir member. Mrs. Kilpatrick had a very outgoing personality, and she loved to be around people and never met a stranger. In her spare time, Mrs. Kilpatrick loved to play the piano, and during her younger years, she was a concert pianist. Mrs. Kilpatrick was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Jessie Gas Jarnigan, and husband, Dozier Darrell Kilpatrick. She is survived by her son, Christopher D. Kilpatrick, Titusville, FL; daughter, Kimberly Ann Kilpatrick, Fort Meade, FL; brother, Richard Jarnigan, Palm Coast, FL; grandchildren, Joey Kilpatrick, Jacob Kilpatrick and Caleb Kilpatrick. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, 307 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
