Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Prather

FORT MEADE - Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Prather, 72, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 in Lakeland, FL. Dot was born October 19, 1942 in Hazelhurst, GA and has been a resident of Fort Meade, FL for many years. She was a homemaker and member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Meade.
Dot was preceded in death by her brother, C.W. Pitts.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Bill Prather, Fort Meade, FL; daughters, Lisa Rogers, Lake Helen, FL, Bridgett Davis and husband Alvie, Lakeland, FL; step-daughter, Carol Johnson, Lake City, FL; sister, Willene Russ, Groveland, FL; grandchildren, Dawn, Heather, Ashley, Nate, Noah, and Kaitlyn; six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m - 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. C.G. Vickers officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.
