WINTER HAVEN - Mr. Earl Crews, 86, passed away Sun., July 3, 2011 after a lengthy illness involving complications from Parkinson's Disease. Earl was a longtime resident of Fort Meade before moving to Winter Haven, and he was a WW II U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Philippines. He retired over 25 years ago after over 35 years of employment with IMC Phosphate. Earl and his wife attended Winter Haven First Church of God for many years and previously Fort Meade First Church of God. He was a very loving husband and father, and was fiercely loyal and protective of his family and his faith in God. He had a heart of gold and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. Earl was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Jack and Emma Crews, five brothers and sisters, and his loving wife of 64 years, Lila Rea Crews who just passed away on May 17th. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Maureen Crews, Mulberry, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Chuck Albritton, Duluth, GA; granddaughters, Ashlie Albritton Zusi and husband Russ, Kristin Albritton Rosado, Monica Griffin, Brandy Griffin; great-grandsons, Andrew and Davis Zusi; sister, Mary Martin; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 12:00pm-1:00pm, Tues., July 5, 2011 with funeral services following at 1:00pm at Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
