BARTOW - Mrs. Glenna Hill Beynon Sheppard, 84, passed away February 5, 2011 at Southland Suites in Lakeland, FL due to heart failure. Mrs. Sheppard was born on August 30, 1926 in Tampa, FL. She graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1944 and the University of Tampa in 1948. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Meade, FL. Mrs. Sheppard loved music, she directed and sang in the choir for many years. She and her first husband, Howard L. Beynon moved to Bartow, FL from Fort Meade in 1972. She retired as a service representative for General Telephone Company. Mrs. Sheppard was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard L. Beynon and Hillary W. Sheppard, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Beynon Hall and husband Lloyd, Fort Meade, FL; sons, Howard C. Beynon and wife Dawn, Fort Meade, FL and Joe L. Beynon and wife Debbie, Gaithersburg, MD; sister, Barbara Hansard, Pensacola, FL; six grandchildren, Jon and Scott Beynon, Stefanie Beynon Ruleman, H.C. and Emily Beynon, Leah Shirley, and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, Fort Meade with Rev. Raymond Cameron and Rev. Vincent Price officiating. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make contributions to the First United Methodist Church, Fort Meade, FL or to Good Shepherd Hospice. Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade, FL 863-285-8171.
