James D. "Jack" Edwards, Jr.

WIMAUMA - Mr. James D. "Jack" Edwards, Jr., 78, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 of heart failure at his daughter's home in Starke, FL. Mr. Edwards was born April 26, 1935 in Tampa, FL and was a longtime resident of Wimauma, FL. He was a carpenter and a very active member of the Florida Flywheelers, Fort Meade. During the annual Flywheeler shows, Mr. Edwards made syrup at his syrup barn and he was one of the primary builders of the Florida Flywheeler Church. Mr. Edwards was also an active member of the Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church Church in Fort Lonesome. He is survived by his daughter, Cyndee Underhill and husband Andy, Starke, FL; sons, David Edwards, Cross City, FL, Rick Edwards and Brian Edwards, both of Montana, and Paul Edwards, Keystone Heights, FL; sisters, Jill Willard and Alma Nickerson, both of Tampa, FL; sixteen grandchildren, including Amanda Underhill and Misty Won-Locke; twenty-two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church in Fort Lonesome, FL with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
