Lesley Russ Shuman

FORT MEADE - Lesley Jeannine Russ Shuman, 52, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in Lakeland, FL. Lesley was born March 8, 1967 in Bartow, FL and was a longtime resident of Fort Meade. She was an employee with the Polk County School Board, member of the 1985 Fort Meade High School graduating class, member of Lake Buffum Baptist Church of Fort Meade. and a Term Missionary with the Southern Baptist Convention. Leslie loved music, and could play a variety of instruments, all of which she used for the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sam and Helen McSwain; and her paternal grandparents, P.W. Russ, and Marvin and Myrtle Williams; and her aunt, Beth McSwain.

Lesley is survived by her parents, David W. Russ and Linda McSwain Russ; brothers, David Allen Russ, Matthew Russ and companion Nikki; sister-in-law, Beth Russ; nieces, AnTasiya and Annsley; and one nephew, Matthew.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 307 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Kenny Slay officiating. Interment will be in Lake Buffum Baptist Church Cemetery, Fort Meade.
