FORT MEADE - Mr. Marshall Allen True, 80, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 of heart failure. Mr. True was born in Obion County, TN on Nov. 8, 1932, and he has been a longtime resident of Fort Meade since 1970. He was a building contractor, a member of First Church of God, Fort Meade, and a U.S. Air Force Korean War Veteran. Mr. True was also a member of the Fort Meade Masonic Lodge #160 F&AM where he was a 32nd degree Mason, Fort Meade Order of the Eastern Star #47, Fort Meade American Legion Post #23, former member of the Fort Meade Rotary Club and received the Paul Harris Fellow Rotarian Award. Mr. True was preceded in death by his son, Michael Allen True; father, John Thomas True; mother, Esther V. Patterson True Craig; step-father, E.H. Craig; sister, Lucille Tinin. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jewel True, Fort Meade, FL; son, Donnie True and wife Teresa, Fort Meade, FL; daughters, Deborah Shepard and husband David, Tallahassee, FL and Beth True Boyer, Fort Meade, FL; five grandchildren, Joshua True, Jennifer True, Sarah True Snodgrass, Rebecca True and Sarah Shepard; one great-grandchild, Lily Espino. Visitation will be held 10:00am - 11:00am, Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 East Broadway, Fort Meade. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kenny Slay and Rev. Travis Risner officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hancockfh.com .
