Vera G. Funk

FORT MEADE - Mrs. Vera Genevee Funk, 91, passed away Tues., Oct. 12, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Funk was born on Dec. 17, 1919 in Arnoldsburg, West Virginia and moved to Fort Meade from Akron, Ohio in 1990. She was a factory worker for Gooyear Tire & Rubber for 35 years, a member of the First Assembly of God, Fort Meade, Barberton Moose Club, Barberton, Ohio, Wingfoot Girls and special recognition of Goodyear Tire for service greater than 25 years. Mrs. Funk was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Funk. She is survived by her sister, Erma Easley, Spencer, West Virginia, several nieces, and her caregiver, Evelyn Davis, Fort Meade. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Fri., Oct. 14, 2011 at chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade. Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade 863-285-8171.
