FORT MEADE - Mr, Wayne (Bud) C. Greenwood Jr. (88)
Bud (as he was fondly known) passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in Greensburg, PA. He was 88 years old. He was born July 26, 1933 in Greene, Ohio, the son of the late Wayne C. Greenwood Sr. and Mary E. (Jervis) Greenwood from Mecca, Ohio. Bud’s two biggest loves in his life were his cattle ranch “B-J Ranch” in Fort Meade, FL which he started and operated with his wife Jean B. Greenwood for many years and his career as an automobile dealer which he began by working along side his father Wayne C. Greenwood Sr. in the family business “Greenwood Auto” in Cortland, Ohio. During that time he attended and graduated from Kent State University after having volunteered for and serving 2 years in the U.S. Army. He was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky and later completed his service with a tour in Korea. He became a very successful automobile dealer and owner of a number of automobile dealerships and franchises in his lifetime. Bud was also instrumental in helping a number of other young men and women advance their automotive careers with many of them going on to become successful automobile dealers themselves. He also enjoyed many years as a rancher and would host an annual “Barn” party for family and many friends along side his wife Jean.
Bud was also a proficient airplane pilot who held an instrument license as well as a multi- engine aircraft license. He also owned and flew a number of single engine and multi-engine airplanes during his lifetime. He was an avid fisherman and hunter having taken many Canadian float plane fly-in fishing trips and South Dakota pheasant hunting trips with both his family and friends.

Bud was previously married to Lucille B. (Camp) Greenwood (September 1952) and subsequently to the late Jean B. (Snow) Greenwood (March 1975 till March 2015). Since 2015 he has been sharing his life with his new love and partner Kate Eckert.

He very much loved his family and was extremely proud of them all. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his current partner Kate Eckert of Greensburg, PA; brother Robert W. Greenwood Sr. and sister-in-law Nancy Greenwood of Cortland, OH; son Greg Greenwood and daughter-in-law Alice (Kelly) Greenwood of Warren, OH; son Terry Greenwood and daughter-in- law Kathy Greenwood of Cortland, OH; son Danny Greenwood of Cortland, OH; daughter Holly Elliott and son-in-law Robert Elliott of Fort Meade, FL; son Scott Snow and daughter-in-law Marti Snow of Columbus, OH; son Keith Snow and daughter-in-law Denise Snow of Babson Park, FL along with many many grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom he was so proud of and dearly loved.
