FORT MEADE – Mr. William Wesley Kerst, 40, passed away August 12, 2018. Wesley was born July 12, 1978 in Bartow, FL and was a longtime resident of Fort Meade. He was retired from the United States Army after dedicating 21 years of service to his country, which included five deployments to Bosnia, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Wesley was a member of the 1996 graduating class of Fort Meade High School, and attended the New Beginning Church of God, Fort Meade.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Allgood; maternal grandmother, Annette Pierce; paternal grandmother, Betty Lou King; paternal grandfather, Arthur Kerst.

Wesley is survived by his sons, Clayton Kerst and Colton Kerst; daughter, Riley Kerst; wife, Crystal Kerst; father, Burt Kerst and step-mother, Nancy Kerst; brother, Billy Kerst and wife Darlene; maternal grandfather, James “Wormy” Pierce & wife Nancy; maternal uncles and aunts, Ronnie and Sandy Shiver, and Lennie and Martha Harris; paternal uncles and aunts, Art Kerst, Jeff Kerst, Stacey Reed, Libby Spoon; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August18, 2018 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice Chaplain’s Veteran Program, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823.
