Mrs. Winnie Prine

LAKELAND - Mrs. Winifred S. "Winnie" Prine, 85, a former longtime resident of Fort Meade, passed away at her home in Lakeland, FL on Friday, August 30, 2019. Mrs. Prine was born October 28, 1933 in Sail City, GA and moved to Lakeland from Fort Meade in 1933. She was a homemaker and member of Kathleen Baptist Church, along with being a former member of First Baptist Church of Fort Meade where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years.

Mrs. Prine was preceded in death by her parents, Williams Henry and Bertha Era Odom Smithwick, and her brothers, Theo Smithwick and Alton Smithwick.

She is survived by her loving husband, James H. Prine, Sr., Lakeland, FL; son, James H. Prine, Jr., Cocoa Beach, FL; daughters, Barbara Lara & husband Joe, Denton, TX, and Pam Prin, Fort Meade, FL; chosen daughter, Rita Collier and husband Kevin Homeland, FL; sisters, Betty Sue Bullock and June Anderson, both of Zolfo Springs, FL; grand-daughter, Alicia Peterman, and great-grandchildren, Kendal and Kennady.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a .m., Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, 307 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary with Pastor Kenny Slay officiating.
