Ed Walkup

FORT MEADE - Mr. Edward Louis Walkup, 83, passed away Dec. 10, 2011 on board the cruise ship MS Maasdam, while vacationing with his wife. Mr. Walkup was born April 13, 1928 in Waukegan, IL and moved to Fort Meade from Memphis, TN in 1998. He was retired corporate director of purchasing for Holiday Inn, a WW II United States Navy Veteran; Scout Master, Silver Beaver and District Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America and twice took two contingent Boy Scout Troops to the World Jamboree. Mr. Walkup received his Bachelor of Science degree of the University of Illinois, and he had a great love for travel. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Y. Walkup, Fort Meade, FL; sons, Gary L. Walkup, Carbondale, IL and James Barton McGee, Superior, CO; grandchildren, Steven and Lauren, great-grandchildren, Katie and Emily.
