FORT MEADE – Mr. Emory Charles Lamb, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 in Lakeland, FL.  Mr. Lamb was born July 19, 1934 and was a native and lifelong resident of Fort Meade.   He was the owner of Lamb Brothers Construction, a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Meade, and a U.S. Army Veteran. Though he didn’t have a lot of free time between his job, taking care of his family, and dedicating his time to help others, he always was able to slip in some relaxation time for fishing at Shady Oaks Fish Camp, as well as watching the University of Florida Gator football games.   Mr. Lamb spent many hours dedicating his time to the youth and young adults of Fort Meade.   He attended nearly every Fort Meade High School football and baseball game and was a member of the Fort Meade Booster Club and the Fort Meade Rotary Club.  In the late 1960’s Emory Lamb of Lamb Brothers Construction provided equipment and labor in the reassembling and building of our current stadium.  In October 2009, the Miner Boosters dedicated the stadium at Frank S. Battle Field to Emory C. Lamb.

Mr. Lamb was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben Guy Lamb and Emily Sylvester Lamb; wife, Zoe T. Lamb; brothers, Vernon, Luther, Lloyd, Leo, Murray, Doyle, Mitchell and Ray.

He is survived by his son, Gregg Lamb and wife Robyn; daughters, Cynthia Woods and husband Mike, and Sherry Lamb Page, all of Fort Meade, FL; sister, Margaret Maddox, Wauchula, FL; grandchildren, Dustin and Ansley Woods, Derek and Ashlee Woods, Kristen and Daniel Britt, Allyson Henson, Jordan and Brittany Page, Jacob and Kendall Page; great-grandchildren, Maddy, Grayson, Zealan, Emerie Kay, Amina, Daxton Emory, Jayelle, and Marigold.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024 from  2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 307 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL.   Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Pastor Dustin Woods officiating.  Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.
