Mrs. Iona Mae Barnett

BOWLING GREEN - Mrs. Iona Mae Barnett passed away Sunday, March 12, 2022 in Sebring, FL. Mrs. Barnett was born August 22, 1941 in Etowah County, Alabama, and has been a resident of Bowling Green for many years. She was a 1960 graduate of Fort Meade High School, and as she loved to be around people, she always enjoyed types of public service work. Mrs. Barnett worked in Bunker's Dept. Store as well as Wardwell's in Fort Meade, and she's well known for being the co-owner along with her husband of the "Highway Cash Grocery" in Bowling Green. Mrs. Barnett loved working with flowers in her garden at home, and she was also a former Bowling Green Cub Scout Leader and a current member of Bowling Green First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle Lee Goodridge and Eunice Crow Goodridge.

Mrs. Barnett is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, James E. Barnett, Bowling Green, FL;
sons, Edward Barnett and wife LorrI Anne, Rodney Barnett & wife Julie; daughter, Jennifer Thomas and husband Charles; brother, Marlen Goodridge & wife Sherry; sister, Brenda Albritton and husband John; Seven Grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a,m., Tuesday; March 15, 2022 in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Fort Meade.
