Mary Ann Nicholson Sanders

BOWLING GREEN - Mrs. Mary Ann Nicholson Sanders, 77, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in Tampa, FL.  Mrs. Sanders was born January 13, 1946, in Bowling Green, FL. She returned to Hardee County with her husband and daughter in 1977.  She was a retired teacher and taught at Brentwood Elementary in Pensacola, FL and later at North Wauchula Elementary.  She cared deeply for her students and made a lasting impact volunteering to support students well after she retired. Mrs. Sanders was also a member of First Baptist Church, Bowling Green, where she had been an active choir member and Sunday School teacher and loved supporting the church's Lottie Moon mission projects. Mrs. Sanders touched countless lives as teacher, friend, and family member, and leaves a hole in the lives of all who knew her now that she has gone to her heavenly home.

            She was preceded in death by and is now reunited with her husband,  Charles H. Sanders; and her parents, Woodrow W.  & Helen Weis Nicholson.  

           Mrs. Sanders is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Sanders, Managua, Nicaragua; brother, Charles Nicholson and wife Penny, Gainesville, FL; grandchildren, Melissa Sanders, Jessie Sanders Brooks; great-grandchildren, Easton Sanders, Jordan Wilson, Steven Wilson, Kato Thompkins, Kobe Thompkins, Anauni Connell; nephews, Richard Nicholson, David Nicholson, and Steven Nicholson.  

         Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., with services following at 2:00 at the First Baptist Church of Bowling Green, 4531 US -17, North, Bowling Green, FL.  Interment will be in Bowling Green Cemetery, Bowling Green, FL.
