Mr. Richard L. Rhoden

FORT MEADE - Mr. Richard L. Rhoden, 88, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 in Bartow, FL. Mr. Rhoden was born June 15, 1928 and was a native and lifelong resident of Fort Meade, FL, where he worked in the citrus industry and served as a life long member of Lake Buffum Baptist Church.

Mr. Rhoden was preceded in death by his sons, Richard Lee Rhoden, Jr. and Larry Willis Rhoden; brothers, Leonard Rhoden, Hugh Rhoden, and Rev. Carroll Rhoden; sisters, Irene Radford and Louise Radford.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Gale Rhoden Fielder and husband Brian, Zolfo Springs, FL; sisters, Ilena Dawes and Zara Fowler, both of Fort Meade, FL, Frances Anderson, Lake Wales, FL, and Ruby Lemke, Ocala, FL; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 East Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2016 from the graveside in Lake Buffum Cemetery, Fort Meade. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hancockfh.com .
