FORT MEADE - Mrs. Sharon Lamb Roberts, 56, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Riverview, FL. Sharon was born August 29, 1961 in Tampa, FL and was a longtime resident of Fort Meade. She retired after a 29 year tenure from the Polk County School Board as a senior program analyst, and she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Meade. Sharon graduated with honors from Fort Meade High School, class of 1979 and also graduated from Polk State College. She loved outdoor activities, including fishing, hunting, and scuba diving, and spending time with her family.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Richard Lawrence Lamb, Jr., and step-father, Arnold Rivers.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne "Boo-Boo" Roberts, Fort Meade, FL; sons, Derek Childress and wife Falon, Bartow, FL, Trent Childress, Wauchula, FL, Wade Roberts, Canton, Ga; mother, Delena Springfield, Lake Placid, FL; sisters, Sonya Rasmussen, Wauchula, FL, Lana Mislevy, Sebring, FL; grandchildren, Clayton Childress, Brayden Childress, Evan Childress, Kinley Childress, and Kohlbie Childress.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 2, 2018 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Cornerstone Church of God, 10 S. Seminole Ave., Fort Meade. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
